“Inspiration in the alpine town”
— BR Klassik
2026 Concerts
Nestled in the breathtaking Alpine village of Mittenwald—Germany’s historic center of violin making—the Karwendel Music Festival has grown into a vibrant international gathering for renowned artists and emerging talents. Through inspiring concerts, masterclasses, and collaborations, musicians from around the world have come together to share their artistry and learn from one another.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we look back with gratitude on this journey and forward to continuing to enrich Mittenwald’s musical life and inspire the next generation.
Over the past decade, the Karwendel Music Festival has nurtured remarkable young talent and opened doors to the world’s great stages. Selected KMF alumni have earned the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall—a milestone they proudly trace back to the mentorship, artistry, and opportunities first cultivated at KMF.

Over the past decade, KMF has had the privilege of welcoming and collaborating with internationally acclaimed musicians who bring their artistry, experience, and inspiration to the festival. Together, these distinguished artists and special guests enrich the festival community, mentor young musicians, and help carry the voice of Mittenwald onto the international stage.
